Horse and rider at work

Horses : the horses are the reason for staying in Vallebona, whether for work or pleasure. Anyone who passes through here is immediately drawn in; there's something for everyone, no matter their level of experience. Many of the horses now ridden by beginners were once difficult and dangerous, having passed from expert hands to more timid ones with a certain awareness over a journey that often lasts years. Yes, they participate in our adventure—"non sine labore" (not without effort), as they say around here.

Training : begins only when the horse shows us complete trust, follows us like our shadow, and has eyes only for us. Then we sensitize and desensitize him, providing minimal assistance and easing fears, preparing him for life in the human world.

To train horses, we use a method that initially separates the right side from the left, then reassembles them once the horse has memorized and mastered the various sensitization points we call buttons or aids. For each new aid, we perform a different exercise, also focusing on the rider's posture. The goal? The pleasure of riding in the riding arena and in the countryside, a horse that participates in our will, reading it beyond appearances. Its legs will be ours... in mutual empathy. A sort of Direhorse from Avatar.

School : Our rider training is very similar to that used with horses, but the simple exercises to learn the ABCs are done with experienced horses that facilitate even approximate actions. The instructor is always in the saddle to follow and intervene in the lesson with more assistance.
Readiness and naturalness, and above all, to facilitate the work of the " mirror neurons ." The beginning of learning and the first walks flow easily. Within a week, a new guest arrives on Friday prepared for a full-day walk that includes a few gallops ! Then, from there, he can begin his long journey of riding...

Your horse riding holiday

Lessons and walks

Every week from March to January you can spend a holiday in Vallebona with a riding program tailored to your needs and abilities.
Horseback riding is available both in the morning and in the afternoon, with a choice of lessons and one- or two-hour countryside rides.
Lessons and rides are tailored to the riders' experience and skill level, ensuring everyone gets the most out of their learning and enjoyment.
The programs are for 12 or 24 hours of riding per week, but the number can obviously be changed during the holiday.
We can also put you in the saddle for short stays and weekends, depending on availability.

In a week in Vallebona, depending on your experience and aptitude, you will learn to:
• lead the horse by hand
• manage the horse safely in the stable (putting on the halter, cleaning, saddling and bridling)
• get on and off the horse without needing assistance
• maintain a good position and control the horse at the trot (sitting and walking) and canter
• control the horse during walks even on mountain passes with steep slopes

On Friday we usually organize a full-day ride (4 – 6 hours in the saddle) with a stop for lunch in the countryside or at a farmhouse, depending on the weather conditions.

Franco: Vallebona was born from my passion for horses. That passion quickly became a profession. A profession that has allowed so many people to discover the world of horses, and has allowed me to never leave it. With Raimonda...
